Why should I edit or remove PDF metadata?

PDF documents often contain hidden metadata including your computer username, company name, software version, and internal file paths. Removing or editing this information protects your privacy before sharing files publicly.

Does editing metadata alter my document pages or text?

Not at all. Only the document properties dictionary is modified. Your pages, images, text, and formatting remain 100% untouched.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. All metadata parsing and saving is performed locally in your browser memory via pdf-lib.
